The Morrison family

No work was done specifically on the Morrison family in summer 1985, as we already had some information provided by Johnnie Nicholson. This is included here as it ties up with the section on the female line. It is most easily shown as the family tree.

The church records show Barbara Morrison as born in 1836; from the census records, her father Robert was born around 1807-1808.

It is interesting that an early entry in the Whiteness and Weisdale baptism records show that in 1727 Erasmus Morrison of Skirron had a son, Thomas; no further searches have been made but it seems very likely that this Erasmus is the grandfather of Erasmus Morrison who married Barbara Moodie.
